Langtang Yala Peak Climbing Trip 14 Days

On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport you will be greeted warmly by our representative who will then drive you to your hotel. Once you are checked in you are able to rest and recuperate from your trip. A briefing is arranged in the evening where you will be introduced to your trekking guide and all vital information about the Yala Peak Climbing will be given to you. You may ask any questions about the trek/climbing program also. Later, you can make a leisurely stroll through the boisterous streets of Thamel and the bustling ambience of Kathmandu itself.

Following breakfast in the hotel, we pick you up by a professionally trained guide and car for the sightseeing tour. You will see some of the most significant cultural and religious sites of Kathmandu Valley today, all of which have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The sites provide a terrific introduction to the history, culture, architecture and spiritual practices of Nepal. Once done with a sightseeing tour, you will meet your trekking/ climbing guide who will give you a detailed briefing about Yala Peak Climbing. The guide will provide information on the route, equipment and any relevant safety techniques ensuring you complete your final preparations for your trek.

A. Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath Temple is Nepal's holiest and most important Hindu Temple of Lord Shiva. It is situated along the Bagmati river and is considered to be a sacred place for the pilgrimage, where one can witness the surrounding area and the Hindu traditions that are performed in the area.

B. Boudhanath Stupa
Boudhanath is one of the biggest Buddhist stupa in the world and a centre of Tibetan Buddhism. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Kathmandu, with its surrounding monasteries and peaceful atmosphere with colorful prayer flags.

C. Patan Durbar Square
The old palaces and temples in Patan Durbar Square and the incredible Newari craft works are what make this square famous. The square is home to great art and cultural heritage, and symbolizes the ancient history of the Kathmandu valley.

D. Swayambhunath Stupa
Swayambhunath, also called Monkey Temple, is located on a hill which overlooks the Kathmandu Valley. It is a holy place for both the Buddhists and the Hindus and also provides a nice view of the city with outstanding religious monuments.

You take your warm breakfast in hotel and then and we continue our scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the gateway to Langtang area. The route winds through the terraced agricultural valleys, through traditional villages and through beautiful river valleys. You can enjoy views of the Trishuli River and surrounding hills on the way with occasional glimpses to the Ganesh Himal and Langtang ranges on clear days.

There will be a few short stops for refreshments and lunch during the drive. We reached a small mountain village called Syabrubesi after some 6 hours, situated next to the Bhote Koshi River. Once you've arrived at the lodge, you can settle in, make final preparations, and embark on the hike the next day.

On your first day of trekking we cross the Bhote Koshi River after breakfast and head up stream the Langtang Khola. The trail runs through the Langtang National Park, where you will see some beautiful views of lush forests, waterfalls and rivers. As you pass through the small villages of Bamboo and Rimche you will rise above the terrain and enjoy the tranquillity of the area. 

The path passes through bamboo, rhododendron, oak and pine forests, where you can spot the different wildlife and bird species of the area such as musk deer ,wild monkey ( langur ) , wild honey ( bay Hive ). We arrive at Lama Hotel, a small village in the midst of thick jungle after a few hours of walking and set up camp for the night.

Following breakfast we start our day-long exploring deeper into the Langtang Valley. It eventually turns through woods and leads to the more open mountain scene with a stunning view of the surrounding peaks. The iconic Langtang Lirung lofts the sky with its grandeur showing in the form of scenic beauty as you ascend.As you get higher, the majestic Langtang Lirung takes the center of the skyline, presenting you with some of the best views of the trek thus far.

Along the way, you may spot some of the region's wildlife, including Himalayan thar, musk deer, langur monkeys, and a variety of colorful birds. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the rare red panda hidden in the forests. 

En route, it's not possible to miss the traditional Tamang settlements of Ghodatabela or the unique culture and lifestyle of the local people. Prior to entering Langtang Village we see memorial sites dedicated to people affected by the earthquake in 2015. After a couple of hours hiking, we reach the lovely mountain village of Langtang.

We depart Langtang Village shortly after breakfast heading towards the most beautiful spot in Langtang Valley, Kyanjin Gumba. The path gradually climbs up through the open landscape, the prayer walls, yak grazing pastures and traditional mountain scenery. During the trek, stunning mountain scenery and glaciers are available.

We will reach Kyanjin Gumba after about three hours of hiking. After lunch, you will have time to explore the area, visit the historic monastery and stop at the local yak cheese factory, which is famous throughout the region. Then it is free to relax, acclimatize, and enjoy the spectacular views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa and others mountains for the rest of the day.

This day is an important acclimatization day to acclimatize your body as you approach the high altitude of Yala Peak. Following breakfast, we walk up to Kyanjin Ri, a popular viewpoint in the Langtang area. The hike is a bit steep at points, but it's definitely worth it.

You get beautiful panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, Naya Kanga, surrounding glaciers and Langtang Valley from the top of Kyanjin Ri. We then enjoy a stop to take in the scenery and photographs and then sit down for lunch and a well-deserved rest at Kyanjin Gumba.

Post breakfast, we depart from Kyanjin Gumba and head towards Yala Peak Base Camp. The trail slowly ascends through alpine scenery, rocky terrain, grazing land and glacial areas. The farther we ascend, the more the scenery is awesome with Langtang Lirung, Naya Kanga, and several surrounding Himalayas peaks visible all along the way.

At Base Camp, the time will be available to rest and prepare for the summit climb. Your guide will give you a short safety course explaining some basic climbing skills and correct practices on all the climbing equipment you will use: crampons, climbing harness, helmet and ropes. The rest of the day is spent setting up the final camp and making the final preparations for the summit attempt.

Today is the most exciting and rewarding day of the expedition as one of the most important things is to climb the Yala Peak to the top. We start very early in the morning and slowly work our way across the rocky areas, snowy slopes and glaciers with the help of our experienced climbing team. The ascent is tough but not impossible and is a great introduction to the mystique of climbing a Himalayan Peak—Yala Peak.

At the peak of the day, after ascending to 5500m, spectacular, panoramic views of Shishapangma (8027m) in Tibet, Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo and numerous surrounding peaks of the Himalayas await you. We then arrive at the summit and take pictures and celebrate the achievement, and then slowly make our way back to Base Camp to spend the night and enjoy the successful climb.

After breakfast at Yala Peak Base Camp, we begin our descent back to Kyanjin Gumba. The path meanders across rocky alpine landscapes with stunning vistas of glaciers, the surrounding landscape and mountain peaks. Having reached the top, the hike is more leisurely and pleasant.

Once at the Kyanjin Gumba accommodation you can relax in the village or take in the quiet mountain setting. It is also a wonderful chance to take the team for their achievement of the summit of Yala Peak.

We start our descent to Lama Hotel from Kyanjin Gumba after breakfast. The trail follows the Langtang Valley back through Langtang Village, Ghodatabela and a few small villages. The land slowly becomes more open and rugged, then more forested with pine, oak and rhododendron trees as we descend.

On the whole the walk downhill is less challenging and may be another chance to appreciate the scenic beauty of the Langtang area. We leap foot in hand to Lama Hotel which we stay at overnight as we make our way through forests and riverside trails.

The final day of trekking follows a scenic downhill trail back to Syabrubesi through forests, riverside paths, and traditional villages. We will hike through the forests of the valley of Langtang Khola, crossing suspension bridges and some villages along the route. Our last descent will give us more than enough time to admire the beauty of nature and cherish memories of the wonderful Langtang region trekking experience.

Finally, after several hours of walking, we will reach Syabrubesi, which marks the official end of our trek. The rest of the day can be devoted to relaxation in the lodge and celebration of the successful Langtang trekking and climbing of Yala Peak experience.

This final stage of the trip starts with the drive from Syabrubesi towards Kathmandu through the mountainous roads. Most of the way goes along the river Trishuli, offering great views of the local landscape and traditional villages along the way.

It takes about six hours of driving until you reach Kathmandu and proceed with the transfer to the hotel. You will have the rest of the day at leisure in order to spend some time exploring Kathmandu or shopping around the Thamel area. A farewell dinner will be arranged that night to mark the end of your climbing expedition.

Now that your Yala Peak Climbing trip has come to an end, it’s time to say goodbye to the beautiful country of Nepal. According to your flight schedule, you might get some leisure time before departure during which you can spend time relaxing at your hotel or stroll around the city.

As per the prearranged schedule, our representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey. You leave Nepal with unmissable experiences of the stunning Langtang Valley, the climb to the summit of Yala Peak, awe-inspiring Himalayan scenery and the generous hospitality of the local people. The experiences and achievements of this remarkable adventure will remain with you long after the journey comes to an end.
